What\u2019s better than winning an NBA Championship?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nothing.<\/p>\n

But let\u2019s not act like winning an NBA Championship doesn\u2019t open doors that may not have ever been opened otherwise.<\/p>\n

Jalen Brunson<\/a>, the often-stoic star point guard of the New York Knicks<\/a>, is about to make his scripted acting debut on Law & Order: SVU<\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to Variety<\/em><\/a>, Brunson will make a guest appearance during Season 28 of the long-running NBC procedural. The season premieres Oct. 8, with Brunson\u2019s episode scheduled to air Nov. 5. His character is being kept under wraps, so for now, nobody knows whether he\u2019ll play himself, a police officer, or somebody caught up in one of the show\u2019s typically horrifying crimes. He was even spotted on the streets of New York sporting his best undercover outfit, attempting to cosplay a cop. <\/p>\n

Either way, Brunson is apparently treating the offseason like a man who has decided one championship ring simply wasn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n

Brunson and SVU<\/em> star Mariska Hargitay have been friends for years, with Hargitay frequently showing up at Knicks games to support her team. After the Knicks won the NBA Championship in June \u2014 their first title in 53 years \u2014 Brunson joked that he would \u201ctry to get on SVU<\/a>\u201d during the offseason.<\/p>\n

Hargitay wasn\u2019t joking.<\/p>\n

She told Variety<\/em> in August<\/a> that Brunson was \u201cdefinitely\u201d getting a role on the show, adding, \u201cI don\u2019t think there is much Jalen can\u2019t do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Apparently, she was right.<\/p>\n

Brunson has already gotten a taste of television. He appeared alongside Hargitay in a pre-recorded segment during the 2026 Emmy Awards<\/a>, which she hosted.<\/p>\n

And because apparently acting in a crime drama wasn\u2019t enough, Brunson is also scheduled to host the 52nd season premiere<\/a> on Sept. 26, making his SNL<\/em> hosting debut.<\/p>\n
