He\u2019s using the road to sharpen material for his next comedy special, and this new hour hits close to home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019ve been writing a whole new hour that I think is relevant, it is real, and it is hilarious,\u201d Bellamy said. Much of it centers on aging, health, and the funny truths of getting older. As he joked, dating in your youth meant asking for a phone number. Now? \u201cYou gotta ask a chick what medicine you on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The comedian will soon be honored with the Icon Award at the What\u2019s Funny Comedy Festival in Chicago. For Bellamy, the recognition means everything.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019ve always wanted
