Style Diary: Taylor Polidore Williams’ Sporty Chic Look At The Atlanta Dream’s HBCU + D9 Night

Taylor Polidore Williams is making a name for herself as a rising actress on the scene. With roles on top shows like Reasonable Doubt and Tyler Perry’s Beauty In Black, she is quickly becoming a household name.

This weekend, Taylor served sporty chic at the the annual HBCU and D9 Night at the State Farm Arena. The budding actress showed off her pride in a custom Da Greek Spot tank with pink and green Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority logo paired with oversized denim culottes. And of course she was reppin’ her alma mater Clark Atlanta University.

The highly-anticipated event celebrates legacy, pride and cultural influence of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the Divine Nine.

“Being an HBCU graduate and an AKA, this night felt like homecoming,” Taylor shared with HB. “HBCUs and the Divine 9 have shaped so much of our culture, our leadership and our sense of community. To see that celebrated in a space like the WNBA, where Black women are already such a powerful part of the story felt so aligned.”

Get Ready With Me

Taylor went with a soft glam to complete her fun and flirty look. She and makeup artist Keitric Starks played with shimmer and color on the lids and cheeks. It was the perfect makeup to compliment Jessica Geiger’s styling on her hair.

The Final Look

It’s in the details. Taylor and her stylist Ray C’Mone complete her ensemble with a pop of color. “I wanted to dress for the theme, so I had a custom shirt made at an embroidery shop here in Atlanta and paired it with pink Bottega heels and a green Balenciaga bag,” Taylor shared. “I’m a proud CAU graduate and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, so of course I had to wear my pink and green for Divine 9 Night. I wanted everything to feel casual and fun, but still like me. My pink blush was a nod to Angel Reese. I love her blush! Very tea!”

The Game

According to Taylor, the energy at the game was “electric.” “It was completely sold out, the Dream is headed to the playoffs, and that entire team is filled with superstars,” she detailed. “I sat right behind the team all night, and after they won, Allisha Gray helped me come down to the court so we could take pictures. Then Angel Reese ran over and gave me the biggest hug, and shortly after that I got to meet one of our gymnastics GOATs, Jordan Chiles. It made my night.”
