Willie D is giving T.I. his flowers following the success of his smash hit “Let ’Em Know.” The Houston rap legend praised Tip for continuing to make an impact decades into his career and said his longevity proves that Hip-Hop doesn’t have an age limit when the music is still connecting with fans.
T.I. has called himself the “King of the South” throughout his career, and Willie D believes the Atlanta rapper has built a solid argument for the crown. From helping define Southern Hip-Hop in the 2000s to continuing to create records that generate conversation today, Tip’s latest moment adds another chapter to a career that has already lasted more than two decades.
Willie D will soon be the one in the hot seat when the Willie D Roast takes over Smart Financial Centre on October 28. The night will feature Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley, Ali Siddiq and more, as they come together to roast one of Houston Hip-Hop’s most outspoken personalities.
